Patrick Boyle is the first of four St. Louis County commissioners up for reelection to announce his candidacy.
Boyle announced Sunday his campaign for a third term representing the 2nd District.
“It has been an honor to represent the citizens of eastern Duluth for the past six years on the St. Louis County Board, with the last year as chair," he said in a news release. "I will be asking again for their vote this fall.”
The campaign will focus on maintaining a fiscally strong budget, investing in county roads and bridges, and fighting for increased resources for those dealing with mental illness.
Terms for Boyle as well as commissioners Beth Olson, 3rd District; Keith Musolf, 5th District; and Mike Jugovich, 7th District; expire Jan. 4, 2021.
Boyle was first elected to the board during a special election in January 2014 to fill the seat vacated by Steve O’Neil, who had died the year before.
