WEST LAFAYETTE - A 3-year-old child is in critical condition after being struck by a moving vehicle Sunday afternoon.
The West Lafayette Police Department said the incident occurred at 4:46 p.m. in the 400 block of West Main Street. The juvenile ran between two parked vehicles into oncoming traffic and was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound. The name of the male driver has not been released.
The child was transported by Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services to Coshocton Regional Medical Center. The kid was then transported via medical helicopter to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus with undisclosed injuries. The police department said the juvenile was in critical condition as of Monday morning.
Also assisting on scene were the West Lafayette Fire Department and Coshocton County Sheriff's Office. The incident remains under investigation.
