Three of the 11 people who sustained gunshot wounds during the Oxford High School shooting have since been discharged from the hospital, four have died, and four remain hospitalized, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said Wednesday.

A total of 10 students and a teacher were shot, and four victims have died: Tate Myre, 16, Hana St. Juliana, 14, Madisyn Baldwin, 17, and Justin Shilling, 17.

Of the other eight people injured, one, a 17-year-old female with a chest wound, remains in critical condition, and 14-year-old male with jaw and hand wounds remains in serious condition. A 14-year-old female victim who was in critical condition Tuesday evening after surgery for chest and neck wounds is now in stable condition, Bouchard said.

A 17-year-old female with a neck wound remains hospitalized in stable condition. The three victims who were treated and discharged include a 15-year-old male with a leg wound, a 17-year-old male with a hip wound and a 47-year-old female teacher with injuries to her left shoulder.

The suspect, 15-year-old Ethan Crumbley — who was named publicly for the first time Wednesday by Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald — will face charges of terrorism, first-degree murder, assault with intent to murder and possession of a firearm for the shooting and be tried as an adult.

Crumbley, a sophomore, is currently detained in Oakland County Children’s Village.

He will face one count of terrorism causing death, four counts of first-degree murder for the four students who died of gunshot wounds, seven counts of assault with intent to murder and 12 counts of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

McDonald said it’s possible additional charges could be filed as the investigation into the shooting continues.

Bouchard said he agreed with the charges that have been levied, noting that the suspect should be held “wholly and completely responsible for the deplorable, tragic event that occurred by choice.”

The suspect was arrested without injury at the high school by deputies and had a 9 mm pistol and additional ammunition when he was apprehended, Bouchard said.

The gun was purchased Nov. 26, four days prior to the shooting, by the suspect’s father, he said, adding that three 15-round magazines were found at the school. Investigators have completed their initial sweep of the crime scene, Bouchard said.
