OAKLAND — A 21-year-old man was in very critical condition after he was shot multiple times in East Oakland on Saturday night, authorities said.
Police responding to a ShotSpotter alert found the Oakland man about 10:27 p.m. Saturday unconscious outside in the 2100 block of East 19th Street, a mainly residential area not far from Garfield Elementary School.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken by ambulance to a hospital.
Police have not released a motive yet in the shooting. No arrests have been made.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the shooter. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
