A man was in critical condition after Chicago Fire Department divers pulled him from Montrose Harbor Friday evening, authorities said.
Around 6:53 p.m., a witness told officers that a 36-year-old man had jumped from Montrose Harbor Drive into the water, according to Chicago police.
Fire Department divers entered the water, and recovered the man about seven minutes later, Fire Department spokesman Larry Merritt said. He was “not responsive,” and had likely been in the water for some time, Merritt said.
The man was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, Chicago police said.
