SAN ANTONIO – A man in his 40s is in critical condition after he was shot on the city’s South Side late Monday night, San Antonio police said.
The incident occurred just before 11:30 p.m. in the 3100 block of Commercial Avenue, not far from Southwest Military Drive and Pleasanton Road.
According to police, the man was walking out of a store when a white Jetta backed into the parking lot. That’s when, police say, an armed man in his 30s got out of the passenger seat and shot the man.
Police said the shooter got back into the vehicle and it fled the scene. The man was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center by EMS with a gunshot wound to the face. He has not been identified.
SAPD said witnesses recognized the suspect and gave police information of where he might be found.
Authorities did not say if they’ve made any arrests.
