A 4-year-old was in critical condition after he fell from the 10th story of an apartment building in New York City, officials said.
Police are investigating how the child fell from the apartment's balcony Saturday afternoon in the Bronx, NBC News York reported.
A witness said an officer began giving the boy mouth-to-mouth resuscitation before he was placed in an ambulance.
The boy, who has not been identified, was rushed to Jacobi Hospital, where he was reported in critical condition.
A preliminary investigation did not show a criminal intent, NBC New York reported.
At least one parent was home at the time of the fall, officials said.
