One Michigan City man is dead and another person is in critical condition after shootings in a neighborhood of Michigan City the night of July 13.
Michigan City Police said that at about 9:20 p.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of Buffalo Street and found Aaron Luncsford, 39, lying on the floor with a severe head injury. He was transported by La Porte County EMS to Franciscan Health, where he was pronounced dead.
About 40 minutes later police responded to the 100 block of West Homer Street and found a 43-year-old person who had been shot in the neck. The person was transported to Franciscan, then transferred to South Bend Memorial in critical condition. Police did not identify the person.
After interviews, police identified and detained a person of interest. The La Porte County Prosecutor’s Office is expected to charge the person.
