A man was shot Wednesday afternoon in Jersey City and one person is being questioned as a person of interest, authorities said.
The 27-year-old victim of the shooting on Myrtle Avenue is in critical condition, Jersey City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said. No arrests have been made, but police said Wednesday that they were questioning the person after two hours of negotiations.
No other details were provided.
The shooting was the second incident in the area of Jersey City Wednesday afternoon. Eight blocks to the north, two people were injured in a drive-by shooting at Martin Luther King Drive and Oak Street.
