KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI — A 10-year-old child remains in critical condition following a two-vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday, Jan. 26 on Gull Road.
The child was one of three people ejected from a GMC Envoy during the crash, which occurred at around 10:36 a.m., Tuesday, near the intersection of Gull Road and 30th Street in Richland Township, according to a news release from the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office.
An investigation by the sheriff’s office determined the Envoy was westbound on Gull Road when the driver, a 34-year-old from Kalamazoo, lost control of the vehicle due to the snowy roads, crossed the centerline and collided with an oncoming Ford F-150 pickup truck.
The driver of the Envoy and a second juvenile passenger, age 16, were both treated for non-life-threatening injuries after being ejected from the vehicle, the release states.
The driver of the Ford pickup truck, a 32-year-old from Galesburg, was also transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash, according to the release.
Names of all parties are currently being withheld as the crash remains under investigation.
The Richland Township Fire Department and Pride Care Ambulance both provided assistance at the scene.
