Woman in critical condition after two-vehicle crash in Golden Valley - KSTP

The state patrol stated that both vehicles were traveling westbound 55 Highway when 23-year-old Zachary Yanez from Golden Valley driving a Chevrolet Equinox sideswiped or rear-ended a GMC Yukon driven by 44-year-old Romel Chester from Minneapolis. 

The crash caused the Chevrolet Equinox to roll, causing the passenger Naila Binda, 23, from Golden Valley, to be ejected, said state patrol. 

The state patrol also stated the GMX Yukon crashed on the northbound 100 Highway ramp, becoming fully engulfed. 

Both driver and passenger in the Chevrolet Equinox received injuries from the crash and were transported to the North Memorial Hospital. According to the state patrol, Binda has life-threatening injuries and Yanez injuries are considered to be not life-threatening. 

As for Chester driving the GMC Yukon, he received no injuries from the crash. 

The state patrol reported Yanez and Chester was wearing a seatbelt during the crash, but Binda was not wearing a seatbelt. 

All three individuals had alcohol involved during the collision, said authorities.
