Gov. Kathy Hochul's campaign on Friday announced it had exceeded its fundraising goals for the year, already raising $10 million since she filed to run for a full term earlier this past summer.
Hochul's campaign reported raising more than $12 million this four-year election cycle alone and has $11.1 million in cash on hand. Her campaign has also received donations from contributors in all of the state's 62 counties.
Hochul's fundraising haul is being revealed by the campaign as she is expected to face a competitive and history large primary field next June. Attorney General Letitia James has announced her campaign for the Democratic nomination, and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has also filed paperwork to create an exploratory committee.
New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams has filed paperwork to create a campaign committee. Rep. Tom Suozzi is expected to announce at the end of the month whether he will run.
Hochul was elevated to the governor's office on Aug. 24 following the resignation of Andrew Cuomo.
