A Dedham 17-year-old boy is in “critical” condition after an apparent drowning incident at a graduation party early Sunday morning, according to police.
Police at around 12:30 a.m. received multiple 911 calls about an unresponsive teen at a possible drowning incident in a backyard pool on Netta Road.
When officers arrived, they saw people performing CPR on the 17-year-old boy.
First responders then took over care, and they transported the boy to a Boston hospital. His condition is believed to be “critical.”
Officers learned that a grad party had been taking place at the Netta Road home. Police have launched an investigation into how the boy ended up being submerged in the water.
The Dedham Public Schools have been “consulted with to ensure that appropriate support is made available to members of the school community,” police said.
