OAKLAND — A man is in the hospital with serious injuries after he was shot at a bus stop in the Fruitvale Sunday morning, police said.
Officers responded to the 1300 block of Fruitvale Avenue on reports of a shooting in the area, Oakland police said. When officers arrived, they found one male victim suffering from a gunshot wound at a bus stop near a Wendy’s restaurant at the corner of International Boulevard and Fruitvale Avenue.
Police said the man who was shot may have been riding a bicycle when he got into a dispute with another man and was shot.
The suspect fled before police go to the scene, police said, and officials have not released a detailed description of the person. Police also said they don’t know what the dispute was about.
Police said the male victim is in critical condition undergoing surgery at a local hospital.
