Town of Dryden, N.Y. – A domestic dispute left a Town of Dryden woman in critical condition in a Syracuse hospital, according to Tompkins County sheriff deputies.

The woman, who remains unidentified, suffered multiple stab wounds early Saturday at her residence in the Hanshaw Village Mobile Home Park, located north of Ithaca near the Ithaca-Tompkins International Airport.

Deputies said the woman was stabbed by her live-in boyfriend and called police from a neighbor’s residence. She was treated at the scene by deputies, then later flown to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, where she is in critical condition.

The suspect, who also has not been identified, remained inside the residence and at first did not respond to requests to come out. He later surrendered to officers after members of the Ithaca Special Weapons and Tactics and Critical Incident Negotiation team were called in.

The suspect also had stab wounds and was transported to Guthrie Robert Parker Hospital in Sayre, Pa., deputies said.

Among those assisting deputies at the scene were members of the State Police, Ithaca, Cayuga Heights and Cornell police departments, and Dryden Ambulance service.
