Frisco City Council has unanimously voted to increase the term limits for members of the Planning & Zoning Commission to a maximum of three, three-year terms.

The vote on July 7 increased the limit from two, three-year terms. The new term limits of up to nine consecutive years aligns with those of the council, Frisco Economic Development Corporation and Community Development Corporation.

Commissioners requested the increase at their June 23 meeting. All seven of the existing commissioners are serving in their second term with the commission.

The commission is responsible for reviewing the planning and zoning of existing and future developments within the city before making recommendations to the council. Members are appointed by the city council.

Council member John Keating was not present to vote at the council meeting.
