FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - A man is suffering life-threatening injuries after an early Saturday morning shooting near Plaza Drive & Pettit Avenue.
Around 4:22 a.m. officers were in the area heard several gunshots and found a vehicle that had crashed into an unoccupied parked vehicle near the intersection, according to police.
A man got out of the vehicle and immediately fell to the ground suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.
Paramedics arrived and provided medical attention then transported him to a local hospital in serious condition. Emergency room physicians determined the victim had life-threatening injuries.
No arrests have been made.
Investigators are looking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident that could assist investigators. Anyone who may have information are asked to contact the Fort Wayne Police Department Detective Bureau at 427-1201 or Crime Stoppers at 436-STOP.
The Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutors Office are investigating the incident.
