BATON ROUGE, La. – Jonathan Levesque, the IT manager and building coordinator for the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes, recently began his term as the 40th President of the LSU Staff Senate.
In his opening address to the 2020-21 Staff Senate, Levesque acknowledged the resilience of the University's staff members during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Today, we find ourselves facing challenges never before seen in LSU's history. I am proud of our staff for their flexibility and resiliency in the face of COVID-19. I am inspired by our commitment to diversity ensuring the world will hear every Tiger's roar."
Levesque has been a member of the CCACSA staff since January 2012, after serving as the technology coordinator at Redemptorist High School. He also worked for several technology companies after serving in the United States Navy on the USS Pittsburgh. Levesque earned his bachelor's degree in business management from LSU in 2008.
The LSU Staff Senate's mission is to promote and protect the welfare of the LSU staff by representing the interest of and the issues impacting all staff members through advocacy, awareness and appreciation.
"All of us at the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes are very proud of Jonathan" said CCACSA Executive Director Walt Holliday. "His passion and love for LSU will serve him and the University well under his leadership."
As a part of the CCACSA team, Levesque has led numerous building improvement projects as well as implementing new educational technology initiatives that earned the CCACSA the 2016 Models of Excellence award from University Business magazine.
Levesque will serve as the Staff Senate President for the 2020-21 academic year.
