A USPS driver involved in a crash in Wexford County remains in critical condition.
The crash, involving a mail truck and semi-truck, happened around 3:18 p.m. Thursday.
A 60-year-old man from Hersey was driving the semi south on M-115 just outside Cadillac.
Police say that’s when a postal truck driven by Leah Tibbs from McBain attempted a U-turn on M-115, and pulled out in front of the truck.
The impact caused both vehicles to catch fire.
The man was taken to Munson Hospital in Cadillac.
Tibbs was airlifted to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City in serious condition.
UPDATE: It is important to note that a previous news release from Michigan State Police indicated that Tibbs had passed. However, troopers say this information was released in error. They say Tibbs remains in critical condition and the crash remains under investigation.
