DETROIT, MI - A driver of a Chevy Trailblazer struck a median wall and rolled over on I-75 early Sunday in Detroit, suffering critical injuries, police said.
Troopers responded to the crash at 12:50 a.m., Sept. 5 to northbound I-75 near Clark Street in Detroit’s Mexicantown neighborhood, said the Michigan State Police Metro Detroit post.
The arriving officers investigated and determined the Chevy Trailblazer driver lost control before hitting the wall and rolling over, police said. The car ended up blocking a portion of the northbound lanes, police said.
Shortly after the crash, a driver of a Ford Fusion crashed into the rolled-over Trailblazer, police said.
Paramedics transported the Trailblazer driver to a local hospital for treatment, while the Fusion driver did not suffer any reported injuries, police said.
Both drivers are suspected of driving while intoxicated, police said. Police arrested both, and both consented to blood draws. The investigation into the crash continues, and charges are pending review from the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.
