A Mobile woman is in critical condition after suffering multiple gunshot wounds Sunday.
Police officers found a woman with multiple gunshot wounds on the ground after responding to reports of a gunshot on Sunday, according to the Mobile Police Department.
“The victim was treated for life-threatening gunshot wounds and transported to an area hospital. The victim/patient remains in critical condition,” the department said in a statement.
The woman was found near the Halls Mill Road and McVay Drive North area of Mobile. The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department helped with emergency assistance at the scene.
An investigation into the shooting is underway.
