MEDINA, Ohio -- City Council Representative-at-Large Paul Rose will be running for his fourth term in November.

“One of my passions is serving the residents of the city of Medina. I’ve come to know many residents. It is my desire to continue to represent them,” Rose said.

“As a result of cooperative efforts with the mayor, administration and council, the city has grown in so many ways,” he said.

“Income tax receipts have increased, but not the tax rate. Employers are moving to Medina when they see the positive business climate here. I want to (keep) contributing to that growth.”

Rose serves on several council committees and on the city Planning Commission. In addition, he shared that it has been suggested that council form an Emerging Technology Advisory Board, and that he is excited to get that off the ground as well.

“Technology is moving so fast that there’s no way one person can keep up with it,” said Rose.

In relation to technology, Rose shared that, because of COVID-19, he and the rest of council learned some things that he hopes to carry forward.

“From a technology standpoint, remote meeting tools have shown us that we can continue to function as a city government even though we are not sitting side by side in a room,” Rose said.

Rose has also shared that, as a councilman-at-large, he has received input from people all over town and takes that into account when working with council and making decisions. As a longtime resident of Medina, working with constituents is important to him.

“I want the resident to know that I will continue to represent them in the same passionate manner that I have in the past 12 years,” he said. “I will continue to take in all opinions when making a decision, and I will continue to work in the best interest of the whole city.”
