CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — A Canandaigua man was seriously hurt after he was pulled from his burning home early Friday morning.
Firefighters say Christopher Downs, 72, was trapped on the second floor of his Goodale Road home and had to be rescued through a window just before 3 a.m.
Downs was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
A 68-year-old woman was able to get out of the house on her own. She was taken to a hospital to be checked out.
A firefighter and Ontario County deputy were treated for smoke inhalation.
The home is a total loss. No word yet on what started the fire.
