JOLIET, IL — A 23-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries during a Tuesday night shooting along Joliet's east side. Joliet police and paramedics responded to 1020 East Washington Street at 6:01 p.m. The victim suffered one gunshot wound and was rushed by Joliet Fire Department Ambulance 4 to the Silver Cross Hospital where he was in critical condition, authorities told Joliet Patch.
Joliet resident Bob Hernandez went to the crime scene and produced a lengthy Facebook live video. He said he was alerted to the shooting by some of his Facebook followers. Hernandez said the Joliet officers had the railroad tracks roped off with yellow crime scene tape and a car and a truck both had crime scene tape wrapped around them.
Hernandez told Patch that one witness in the area heard as many as 30 gunshots fired on Tuesday night.
