A 16-year-old boy was stabbed early Tuesday by a thief who made off with his cell phone in Brooklyn, cops said.
The teen was robbed and attacked around 5:40 a.m. at Euclid and Atlantic avenues in Cypress Hills, police said.
The victim was originally listed in critical condition, but he has since been upgraded to stable, cops said. It was not immediately clear whether he knew his attacker or what hospital he was taken to.
The victim’s friend Eliezer Aguilar, 18, who was with him at the time, said the victim was stabbed three times — two minor cuts around the hip and once in the neck — a more severe wound.
“He looked like he was still strong, holding, but the only thing he was bothering about was his heart,” Aguilar said. “He kept saying, ‘Yo, my heart, my heart, my heart.”
Aguilar said the thief attempted to steal his own phone as well but failed.
The suspect, who remained at large, was last seen wearing a green jacket and black jeans, cops said.
