Former Blackhawks goalie Robin Lehner, currently with the Golden Knights, is a pending unrestricted free agent.

Chicago traded Lehner to Vegas ahead of February's trade deadline.

Lehner, who's gone 9-4 in the postseason with a goals-against average of 1.84, a .924 save percentage and four shutouts for the Knights, may be in net for Vegas past this season according to The Athletic's Jesse Granger.

"My belief at this point is the Golden Knights plan to sign Lehner to a long-term extension, and sources around the league have indicated those talks might have already begun," Granger wrote in a story on Wednesday.

Granger also noted Vegas goalie Marc-Andre Fleury, a three-time Stanley Cup champ with the Pittsburgh Penguins, has two years remaining on his contract at $7 million per year.  Related: Golden Knights goalie Marc-Andre Fleury addresses controversial tweet from agent

Lehner, 29, has started 13 games for the Knights this postseason to Fleury's four. Vegas is currently tied 1-1 in the Western Conference Final with the Dallas Stars.
