ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) --
UPDATE 7:55 P.M: Police say a man is in critical condition Friday night after being struck by a vehicle on MacCorkle Ave. in St. Albans.
According to St. Albans Police, a man and a woman were walking in the slow eastbound lane near the 2600 block of MacCorkle Ave. around 6 p.m. One vehicle swerved to the fast lane to avoid hitting the man, and a second attempted to brake but hit the man.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene while the injured man was transported to CAMC.
MacCorkle Ave. has since been reopened.
No names have been released, and an investigation is ongoing.

MacCorkle Avenue is closed Friday evening in St. Albans after a person was struck by a vehicle, Metro 911 dispatchers say.
The incident was reported just after 6 p.m. in the 2600 block of the roadway. Both the eastbound and westbound lanes are closed.
