Three people were shot on Pittsburgh’s South Side in the early-morning hours of New Year’s Day, including one who is in critical condition, according to city police.
Officers from Zone 3 responded to the 1700 block of East Carson Street around 2 a.m. for a report of shots fired. Arriving on the scene, they found a man with gunshot wounds to the chest and hip. He was transported by ambulance in critical condition, police said.
While securing the scene, police discovered two additional victims nearby, a man with a gunshot wound to his foot, and a woman who’d received a bullet graze to the thigh. None of the victims have been identified.
Witnesses told police the shooting happened following a fight on East Carson.
There are no suspects, and the investigation is ongoing, according to police.
