The Manchester City fan who was attacked after the Champions League game against Club Brugge has been upgraded to a "stable" condition, according to prosecutors.
Prosecutors have clarified the fan is still in a coma, although his situation has improved. Five men have also been arrested for the incident that left a City fan, 63, hospitalised.
The supporter, who is Belgian, was attacked in a parking lot at a service station late on Tuesday after City's 5-1 win.
The East Flanders prosecutor's office confirmed on Friday that a suspect has been charged with theft with violence and theft with aggravated violence, another with intentional beatings and incapacitating injuries and all five have been charged with culpable negligence.
All five were brought before a judge in Ghent on Thursday, with three released under strict conditions, including a ban on attending any football matches.
Prosecutors said the City fan is "still in a coma but his condition is now stable."
