The former Ohio State football player has had this condition for a while, but doctors believe he will outgrow it at some point.
Justin Fields beat a lot of teams during his time with the Ohio State football team. He beat Michigan, Clemson, and Penn State. He did that while putting up massive stats in each of those contests. Fields also did that while suffering from a serious medical condition.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Fields has been playing college football while managing Epilepsy, which can cause seizures. He apparently has let NFL teams know of his condition.

As you can see, Fields is managing it well with medication and it is something that doctors believe he will outgrow at some point. Perhaps this is why some teams have been mysteriously moving Fields down their draft boards over the last few months.
Even though he does have this medical condition, the fact that he put up the stats he did is even more impressive. The fact that he was torching Clemson during the Sugar Bowl when he had the remote possibility of suffering a seizure is absolutely insane.
This once again shows how much Justin Fields loves football. He wouldn’t divulge this to NFL teams if he didn’t think it was necessary for them to know. He also is showing that he is actively taking medication to keep problems from occurring.
Fields will continue to deal with this condition until he outgrows it. As Rapoport indicated, he may already have outgrown it. This may not even be an issue growing forward. Just learning about his now makes me appreciate Fields’ greatness even more.
Fields is sure to hear his name called early in the first round of the Draft next week. It’s unclear how this news will truly affect his stock.
