SPRING LAKE, MI -- A head-on crash on M-104 east of Spring Lake seriously injured both drivers and left one in critical condition.
Ottawa County sheriff’s deputies said the crash happened when a 76-year-old man going west on M-104 tried to pass a vehicle in front of him about 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 7.
The man’s Ford Edge crashed head on into a Honda CRV going east and driven by a 51-year-old Spring Lake woman.
The 76-year-old man, of Chesterfield, had serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to an area hospital. The other driver was pinned in the CRV and, after being set free, was taken by ambulance to an area hospital. She was last known to be in critical condition.
Sheriff’s deputies closed M-104, also known as Cleveland Street, to investigate the crash.
