A toddler is suffering from critical injuries after being struck by a driver Friday afternoon in a Northeast Portland neighborhood.
The driver hit the 15-month-old girl while she was in the driveway of a home near Northeast 81st Avenue and Tillamook Street, according to Portland police. She was taken to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Police did not immediately identify the girl or driver. They also did not specify whether the girl and driver are related or if either one lives at the home.
The driver stayed at the scene and is talking with police. Northeast 81st Avenue is closed between Tillamook and Thompson streets amid an investigation.
