OAKLAND — A man shot Friday night in East Oakland was in critical condition Saturday, authorities said.

Police responding to a ShotSpotter alert found the man about 8:48 p.m. Friday in the 1400 block of 89th Avenue near International Boulevard.

The man, who was unconscious, was taken to a hospital. Police have not said if he lived in the area.

Police have not released a motive in the shooting and have not announced any arrests.

Earlier in the day, a woman and a man were also shot on International Boulevard in East Oakland but found some blocks away from each other. Police have not said if the two victims knew each other and were working to see if the shootings were related, authorities said.

Both victims were taken to a hospital but their conditions were not available.

The woman was shot about 1:33 p.m. Friday in the 8500 block of International Boulevard and was able to make it to a nearby store for help.

About 20 minutes earlier the man was found shot in the 7300 block of International Boulevard.

No motive has been determined yet in either shooting and no arrests have been made.
