CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Charleston Police say a person was taken to the hospital after getting shot in the back.

It happened around 9:25 p.m. near a 7-Eleven in the 1600 block of Washington Street East on Wednesday.

According to police, an argument started between multiple people on the northwest corner of the parking lot. That’s when a suspect fired multiple rounds, hitting one person.

The victim is listed in critical condition.

No other details have been released.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A shooting late Wednesday night in Charleston sent one person to the hospital, Charleston Police say.

They said it happened near the 7-Eleven station along Washington Street East -- not far from the Capitol Complex.

The shooting was reported around 10:30 p.m.

There’s no word at this time about the extent of the person’s injuries, but they’re said to be non-life threatening.
