ANN ARBOR, MI - An Ypsilanti man is in critical condition after a mail truck collided with his moped in Ann Arbor, police said.

Officers responded to the vehicle collision at 3:08 p.m. Saturday, June 20 on Packard Street, west of Easy Street in Ann Arbor, said Sgt. Bill Clock of the Ann Arbor Police Department.

The 61-year-old moped driver was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, police said.

The postal service truck was driven by a 41-year-old Ypsilanti woman, who did not suffer any injuries, police said. Neither alcohol nor speed were suspected as factors in the crash, police said.

The westbound lanes on Packard Street were shut down for more than two hours, police said.

The case is under further investigation. Any witnesses of the crash are encouraged to call Clock at 734-794-6940, ext. 49403 or Officer Chris Garrett at 734-794-6920.
