HAMBURG, June 16 (Reuters) - Chicago corn futures rose on Tuesday as a crop progress report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) said the condition of U.S. corn deteriorated after recent hot weather.

Chicago Board of Trade most-active corn rose 1.06% to $3.32-3/4 a bushel at 1049 GMT. Wheat was down 0.05% at $5.04-1/2 a bushel, soybeans rose 0.3% to $8.72 a bushel.

The USDA rated 71% of the U.S. corn crop in good-to-excellent condition in its weekly harvest report against 75% last week. Analysts surveyed by Reuters on average expected 75%.

"Corn is being supported today by the deterioration in U.S. crop conditions seen by the USDA," said Matt Ammermann, commodity risk manager with INTL FCStone. "The recent hot weather on the U.S. Plains seemed to have a greater impact than thought and will now put more focus on the weekly U.S. crop condition reports."

"But it is still early in the season and too soon for serious concern about U.S. crops."

The USDA said 72% of U.S. soybeans were in good/excellent condition, the same as last week and the same as analyst expectations. It said 15% of U.S. winter wheat was harvested, against 7% last week and 17% expected by analysts.

"Wheat is suffering from overall slack global demand as the U.S. harvest gathers pace," Ammermann said. "There will be hard competition in world wheat markets not only from the new crop in the Black Sea market in coming months but also from a wide range of other regions. There will be a lot of wheat seeking buyers in competition to the U.S."

"Soybeans are seeing buying interest after recent price falls, with a feeling the market wants to break above $8.70 a bushel. There is also continued support from hopes that the more active Chinese buying of U.S. soybeans seen recently will continue."
