BRIDGEPORT — A child is in critical condition Friday after getting stuck in a window on a vehicle, according to officials.
Scott Appleby, the city’s director of emergency communications and emergency management, said a bystander stepped in after seeing a 4-year-old child get stuck in the window of a vehicle.
The bystander “was able to break the gas as the child was stuck in the window,” Appleby said.
The child was in critical but stable condition as of about 1 p.m. Friday. Appleby said the 4-year-old was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital.
“This was an accident,” Appleby said. “The child was playing with the window switch. We remind parents to please by cognizant of children in the vehicle.”
