ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - A snowmobile accident leaves one man in serious condition Thursday night.

At approximately 5:09 p.m., authorities responded to a private property near the intersection of Minnich and Maples Road.

Police say the driver of the snowmobile, 54-year-old Brian Poor, struck a ditch that ejected him while the snowmobile went airbone.

According to police, Poor was wearing a helmet at the time of accident and was transported to a local hospital with multiple fractures and internal injuries.

At this time, authorities say Poor is in serious condition.

Due to this accident, conservation officers want to remind snowmobilers to always wear helmet and protective riding gear and to obtain permission from property owners before operating on their property.
