HARTFORD — Police are investigating after a shooting on the city’s north side Tuesday afternoon left one person with serious injuries.

Patrol officers were called to the 400 block of Garden Street, a residential neighborhood, just before 3 p.m. after the city’s Shot Spotter system registered gunfire.

“Upon arrival, a male victim was located suffering from numerous gunshot wounds,” Lt. Aaron Boisvert said in a press release. “The male victim was transported to an area hospital where he was listed in serious condition.”

The shooting marks the fourth in the state’s capitol city in recent days.

The department’s major crimes and crime scene divisions both responded and assumed the investigation into the shooting, Boisvert said.

Police closed a section of Garden Street between Capen Street and Mather Street, as well as FD Oates Avenue between Enfield and Bethel streets, for the investigation.

Anyone with any information regarding the case is asked to call the Hartford Police Department Tip Line at 860-722-TIPS (8477).
